Brookstreet

Member spotlight: Brookstreet Hotel

Published on

To highlight Ottawa Tourism Meetings & Conventions members and the new health and safety protocols they are putting in place, we are introducing a new monthly feature in which we interview some of our active members on their reopening strategy.

This month, Mark Nisbett, Director of Sales and Marketing of the Brookstreet Hotel & Marshes Golf Club, explains the modifications made to their business operations to adhere to new municipal and provincial health and safety guidelines.

As the leading four-diamond hotel, conference, golf, spa and fine-dining destination in the national capital region, Brookstreet distinguishes itself through rapt attention to the smallest details, through impeccable service and the finest amenities. From stunning décor to state-of-the-art technologies, from fine dining to a vast array of recreational activities year-round, we aspire to create sensational hotel experiences for each guest during every visit. And for sports fans, Brookstreet is the official hotel of the Ottawa Senators!

Brookstreet typically hosts Conventions, Weddings Galas and Corporate Meetings, Golf tournaments and events, and can accommodate up to 650 guests in our largest ballroom (pre Covid).

During this pandemic Brookstreet Hotel and the Marshes golf club have adopted the Stay Safe Program endorsed by HAC, AHLA and OGHA.  These procedures are in place at both the Hotel and Convention Centre as well as our golf courses, spa, pools, and activities.  All outlets are currently operating at reduced capacities.

Social Distancing is in place for all Hotel operations following government restrictions and recommendations.  These steps currently include reduced capacity in all Hotel outlets including, food and beverage limited to outdoor patio venues and no gatherings of more that 10 people for an event.  We have updated our floor plans to accommodate social distancing in our meeting spaces, once food services are allowed, we will feature touchless food service (no traditional buffets) and reinventing set ups for meetings to accommodate larger groups.

On the guestroom side we have implemented most tough points through pre-registrations and app for keyless guestroom entry though the guests’ phone.  Occupied rooms will sit vacant for 48 hours, then deep cleaned and sanitised for the next guest.
