April 16, 2024, marks the first time that the Tourism Industry Association of Canada (TIAC) will devote a day during National Tourism Week (April 15-19) to increasing awareness of the business events sector.
Following GMID tradition, meeting sites across the country will be #LightingUpBlue to commemorate the day. And to mark the occasion of Global Meeting Industry Day 2024 in Ottawa, the Shaw Centre, one of our premier event venues in Ottawa, will be lighting up blue in honor of this important day of advocacy. This special lighting display is a tribute to the many professionals who work tirelessly to make meetings and events happen, and a symbol of our industry's resilience, innovation, and importance.
