Is it true that this event was cancelled?
The Room Service Concert Series has been postponed, not cancelled. With the implementation of a stay-at-home order in the entire province of Ontario—including Ottawa—as of April 8, the event cannot proceed as planned on the 8 original dates between April 9 and 30, 2021.
Postponed? When are the new dates?
As the pandemic situation is a fluid one, we cannot yet confirm the new dates. As soon as we do, we will be updating our website, and sharing widely on social media and through advertising.
What if I booked a night in April to watch the show?
Please contact the entity with whom you originally made your booking (the hotel itself, an online travel agency such as Expedia, etc.) to cancel for those April dates. Once the new dates are known, we encourage you to book again.

What are the participating hotels?
A list of participating hotels can be found on the Room Service Concert Series booking webpage. You have your pick of a great selection of hotels, both geographically and at different price points, allowing you to choose the experience that’s best for you.
How much does this cost?
Everyone who stays at a participating hotel for one of the Friday or Saturday nights between April 9 and 30 (or on Thursday, April 22) will have access to the concerts through the television in their room. There is no extra cost for the concert series; it is a value-add! Exact viewing instructions will be provided to you by your hotel.
How do I book? How do I find the best deal?
You’ll have to decide what factors are most important to you (location, parking, on-site restaurant, cancellation policies, suite vs room, loyalty programs, etc.), and do a bit of research on our webpage to determine the right hotel fit for your staycationing desires.
What is this It’s Still On Us promotion? Can I use that to save $100 and watch the concerts?
Ottawa Tourism has an existing promotion, available until May 31, 2021, called It’s Still On Us that offers $100 off a two-consecutive-night stay at participating hotels. If you stay at least two nights in a row at a hotel that is participating in both the It’s Still on Us and the Room Service Concert Series promotions, you can save $100 but you must book your stay using the links found on the Room Service Concert Series booking webpage. NOTE: Look for the $100 off icon on the list of hotels participating in the Room Service Concert Series! You may find different rates for the same hotel: again, this is a factor of what’s included and what the cancellation and other policies are. Find the rate that works best for your needs.
Will I see the $100 credit when I book?
If you book a minimum two-consecutive-night stay at a hotel participating in the It’s Still On Us promotion (look for the $100 off icon), the $100 credit will be applied when you check out of the hotel. You may choose to apply the credit to the room charges, or to any other charges you may have incurred at the hotel.
I can find different rates for what appears to be the same room at the same hotel. Why?
Look closely: sometimes the rate is tied to what’s included (breakfast? parking?) or what conditions apply (free cancellation? early check-in/late check-out?). Sometimes membership in a group or being a senior citizen can affect your rate. Please review all inclusions and conditions carefully so you find the rate that best meets your needs.
What if I only stay one night?
The It’s Still On Us promotion only applies to stays of at least two consecutive nights. You can still book a one-night stay at a hotel that is participating in the Room Service Concert Series and you’ll be able to watch the concerts offered on that particular night, if applicable, but you will not receive a $100 credit.
The hotel I want to stay at isn’t participating in It’s Still On Us and I want to stay two nights! Or the hotel I want to stay at isn’t participating in Room Service Concert Series! What do I do?
It is up to each hotel which promotion it participates in. You’ll have to weigh what factors are most important to you to make your decision where to stay.
Why is Ottawa Tourism doing this?
Because we all need a break from the pandemic! This promotion is a boost for local hotels and for the tourism industry in general: COVID-19 continues to impact your neighbours who work in tourism. Planning a weekend staycation is also a great mental health activity.
I’m in… it sounds like fun! What else can I do?
Ottawa Tourism has gathered ideas on what to do during your Room Service Concert Series staycation to make it an even more special weekend. Guests can tailor the experience to their budget and needs.
I’m not very technical… do I need to bring a computer or other device, or download anything to watch?
No, you just need to turn on the TV in your hotel room… the concerts are streamed directly through the TV. Exact instructions will be provided to you by your hotel. However, during the show, you’ll have the option to log onto a website from your own device (laptop, smartphone, tablet, etc.) that will allow you to interact with other viewers and get inspiration for other things to safely see, do, visit, eat, and drink during your stay.
Are the concerts offered in both English and French?
The concerts themselves will be offered in English. Ottawa Tourism’s website—and the interactive website that will be active on the nights of the concerts, mentioned in the question above—provide information in both English and French.
Is this safe?
Ottawa Tourism urges guests to follow the COVID-19 directives of Ottawa Public Health and similar agencies to keep everyone safe. This means wearing a mask in common areas of the hotel; remaining at least 2 metres away from other guests; and ensuring that the only people in your hotel room are people from your regular household.
