Relax at Nordik Spa-Nature

Take a break from the fast-paced action of the games and unwind at Nordik Spa-Nature, the largest spa in North America, located less than a ten-minute drive from downtown Ottawa in Chelsea, Quebec. Alternate between hot and cold baths to experience the invigorating effects of thermotherapy, or chill out in luxury relaxation areas, saunas and eateries.

Cozy up with a drink by their outdoor fireplaces or savour exclusive organic microbrewed local beer at the Biërgarden & Shack.

Spa treatments include massages, body care treatments, Aufguss (a German thermotherapy ritual led by an artisan), and the only saltwater floating pool in America.

Discover Gatineau Park

Nature lovers will want to explore Gatineau Park, a stunning 361-square-kilometre conservation area located just across the river from downtown Ottawa. Known for its picturesque winter landscapes, the park offers a variety of outdoor activities (including rental equipment) like cross-country and downhill skiing, snowshoeing and fat biking.

You can also choose to go for a peaceful hike along snow-covered trails while you take in breathtaking views. You might even spot wildlife like deer or foxes in their natural habitat!

Embrace the festive spirit

You can continue to soak in the magic of the season with Magic of Lights, open nightly from 5:00 p.m to 10 p.m. until January 4, 2025. This drive-through holiday light experience features over 2 kilometres of stunning LED light displays, making it the perfect way to extend the festive cheer. There’s even an illuminated walk-through forest trail and classic Canadian treats like BeaverTails.

Located at 411 Corktown Road in Nepean, tickets can be purchased online or at the gate with one price, one carload.

Keep the holiday spirit alive with a visit to the Trees of Hope for CHEO fundraiser at the Fairmont Château Laurier where you can vote for your favorite decorated tree until January 6, 2025. The iconic castle-like hotel even has a pop-up holiday cocktail spot called Elf’s Pub, open until January 5, 2025.
