For excellence in travel writing 2021:
Ottawa Tourism offers an annual $500 CAD prize for outstanding travel writing featuring Canada’s Capital Region. Eligible entries include items in English or in French that have appeared in magazines, newspapers, or online media in 2021 that highlight Ottawa as a travel destination.
Elizabeth Chorney-Booth was named the winner of the 2020 Ottawa Tourism Travel Writing Award for her entry, The aviation museum for people who don’t care about aviation, which was posted on CNN Travel on February 6, 2020.
The winner of the 2021 award will be announced before April 30, 2022.
To submit an entry for 2021 Travel Writing Award:
Each entry must include a PDF or a link to the article along with the name, address, e-mail address and telephone number of the entrant, the name of the publication and the date the item was published. Entries must have appeared in print or online between January 1, 2021 and December 31, 2021.
There is no fee to enter, nor a limit on the number of articles an individual may submit (though each entry must be submitted separately).
The submissions must be received by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, February 4, 2022.
