Fairmont Château Laurier prepares for holiday traditions, Trees of Hope and Elf’s Pub
This year marks the 27th edition of Fairmont Château Laurier's beloved Trees of Hope holiday charity event, supporting the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO). With $1.4 million raised for the CHEO Foundation to date, this cherished tradition continues to be a highlight in the Ottawa community. This year’s theme, “Suite Dreams: A Nutcracker Tale,” draws inspiration from Tchaikovsky’s classic ballet, and from November 26 through early January, the hotel’s halls and lobby will be filled with beautifully decorated trees.
Adding to the festive spirit, Elf’s Pub returns on November 26, featuring a new theme (still under wraps) that promises sweet surprises. The pub will be open daily from 4:30 to 11 p.m. for walk-ins.
In addition to these festivities, an iconic piece of history returns: Yousef Karsh’s famous portrait of Winston Churchill, “The Roaring Lion.” Stolen nearly two years ago and recently recovered in Rome, the portrait will make its grand reappearance at the Château, coinciding with the reopening of Zoe’s lounge in November.
