Ryan Smeeton

“A few years ago, I came back to Ottawa to share my passion and creativity. I love creating large-scale works, and more and more mural opportunities are popping up here.”

When his love for drawing couldn’t be contained to a single sheet of paper, Ryan wanted bigger. It was after graduating the Fine Arts program at the University of Ottawa that he went journeying off to Europe and got his first taste of the local art scene there. This path led him to begin a residency in the Spanish countryside where, on his spare time, he finally found a canvas big enough to work with – blank walls. Ryan has since returned home to Ottawa and his hunt for the perfect outdoor canvas has led him to create large-scale works of art with the City of Ottawa, Carleton University, and the newly renovated Canada Science and Technology Museum.
