Hop on an eco-friendly and quiet water taxi for a quick and picturesque ride on the Ottawa River between several locations in Ottawa and Gatineau.
The 100% electric and universally accessible Aqua-Taxi is a unique water shuttle service that travels between the Ontario and Quebec shores of the Ottawa River. Stops on the continuous short trip circuit (reservations not required) include the Ottawa Locks near the Bytown Museum, the Canadian Museum of History, and Richmond Landing near the Canadian War Museum. A separate, longer trip called the Resto bar circuit travels between the Rockcliffe Boathouse and Rest’O’Bord Le Pirate, just east of the city centre (reservations required). Depending on the route, you will enjoy views of Parliament Hill, the Supreme Court of Canada, the National Gallery of Canada and Rideau Falls.
The water taxis, which runs every day from roughly mid-May to mid-October, allow wheelchairs, bikes, strollers and pets.
