Upper Canada Village

Upper Canada Village - Parks of the St. Lawrence

Follow Upper Canada Village - Parks of the St. Lawrence

Go back in time to the 1860s by strolling through a living history site that depicts life in a rural Canadian village.

At Upper Canada Village just one hour south of Ottawa, you can explore authentic buildings, period activities and costumed interpreters that bring the late Victorian era to life. Meet the friendly blacksmith, the jovial baker and the happy cheesemaker as they go about their daily chores.

On-site dining options include historical cuisine and quick meal options, while the gift shop carries a variety of Canadian crafts and food items, some of which are produced on site by the villagers. For the ultimate experience, book an overnight stay in one of the historical accommodations or nearby campground. Upper Canada Village is a seasonal attraction which is generally open from mid-May to mid-October. It also hosts special events during the Halloween and Christmas seasons.
