Follow Mādahòkì Farm

Experience authentic Indigenous culture at this rural site within the city of Ottawa, with seasonal events, a year-round marketplace and a range of visitor experiences for individuals, families and groups.

Located just southwest of downtown in the National Capital Greenbelt, Mādahòkì Farm is home to local organization and attraction Indigenous Experiences. The farm’s name, which means “to share the land” in the Anishnaabe language, reflects its agricultural and community focus. The site features large indoor and outdoor spaces for programming, animals such as the rare and endangered Ojibwe Spirit Horses, and a year-round Indigenous marketplace of authentic artisanal products from across Canada (on-site and online).

Groups and individuals are welcome to visit and connect with Indigenous culture through the land, animals and storytelling. One highlight is Mishtadim (Equine Assisted Learning), an experiential program where the Spirit Horses guide participants in building confidence, leadership and emotional resilience. Led by nationally certified facilitators and rooted in traditional storytelling and the Seven Grandfather Teachings, this program fosters life skills, healing and reconnection with the land in a culturally safe and supportive environment.

Seasonal events highlighting traditional food, dance, music and more are also held at Mādahòkì Farm.
