With its sweeping views of the Ottawa River, the Gatineau Hills and Rideau Falls, this unique indoor and outdoor event venue offers beautiful surroundings in a historically significant location.

The Royal Canadian Geographical Society operates 50 Sussex, a prestigious and exclusive event venue located in small Rideau Falls Park, not far from the ByWard Market area. The building's spaces can be configured in multiple ways to suit a wide range of activities, from corporate meetings and TV broadcasts to elegant weddings. Outdoor spaces include a riverfront terrace and a spacious lawn. The venue also offers catering, decorating, and state-of-the-art audiovisual and lighting services.

Rideau Falls was named by early French explorers for its resemblance to a curtain (rideau) of water. Today, the area surrounding the falls and 50 Sussex is home to some of Ottawa's most prestigious institutions, including the National Research Council, the French Embassy, the British High Commission, Global Affairs Canada and, just down the road, the residences of the prime minister and the governor general.
