Atlantic Voices Presents: Shorelines

May 25, 2025

Join Atlantic Voices for Shorelines — a musical journey through the harbours, bays, coves, capes, and riverbanks of the Atlantic Provinces, with visits to a few distant shores along the way. The programme features beloved Newfoundland classics such as Let Me Fish Off Cape St. Mary's and A Great Big Sea Hove in Long Beach, alongside contemporary works by renowned artists including Stan Rogers, Robbie Smith, Buddy Wasisname, and James Gordon of Tamarack.

Labrador Inuk songwriter Deantha Edmunds offers a moving contribution with Song of the River — a piece that imagines her people’s history as a river flowing through time. The concert also includes The Brass Band of the Cove, the award-winning composition by the late Kurt Walther, originally selected during the ensemble’s inaugural composition contest in 2012.
