The National Gallery of Canada is also full of unexpected surprises. Enter the reconstructed and ornate Rideau Street Chapel, where 40 recorded choir voices magically surround you; get Zen in the beautiful interior Garden Court; and head outside to Kìwekì Point (formerly Nepean Point) behind the museum to see several unique art installations, including the towering contemporary sculpture One Hundred Foot Line by Roxy Paine. The point also features a large statue of French explorer Samuel de Champlain and provides a panoramic view of the cities of Ottawa and Gatineau, including Parliament Hill.
Some sections of Kìwekì Point may be inaccessible due to ongoing rehabilitation.
