Roper on the River

This August, the Ottawa River becomes the backdrop for one of the city's most joyfully absurd celebrations. Roper on the River is a three-hour cruise aboard the Ottawa River Queen, built around bold prints, chunky jewellery, passed hors d'oeuvres, a taco bar, and a DJ spinning the GenX hits that actually belong on a dance floor. Costumes are encouraged. Women of all ages are welcome, and so are the men brave enough to join them. This is not a quiet sunset cruise. This is a party in a kaftan, on a boat, on the river.
