In the first destination-led program of its kind in Canada, Ottawa Tourism has partnered with La Tablée des Chefs to launch À la Carte, a coordinated food recovery program that recovers surplus food from the hospitality industry to support members of the community facing food insecurity.
Ottawa Tourism is passionate about the program’s unique ability to coordinate efforts directly with our community and track our collective impact through the partnership with La Tablée des Chefs.
Ottawa Tourism’s program, launched in 2024, offers venues who host large events a tool to help build relationships with local community organizations and provides a link to donate surplus food from events. La Tablée des Chefs works closely with each donor and community organisations to ensure a food recovery process that is sustainable, safe, organized, and easy to implement into participating venues’ operations.
Through this program, event hosts can know they're making a positive impact on the destination's community.
