Ottawa Tourism has produced this document to outline its commitment to diversity and inclusion and to clarify its expectations for its member businesses and organizations.

Ottawa Tourism expects that its members hold these same values and do not engage in discriminatory conduct.

As a member in good standing of Ottawa Tourism, my organization commits to:

• Provide a clean, welcoming, well-maintained, and safe environment for all customers.
• Respond promptly, fairly, and professionally to all customer inquiries and complaints.
• Provide customers with the highest possible level of service.
• Treat customers, visitors, Ottawa Tourism staff, and other members of Ottawa Tourism courteously, ethically, respectfully, and professionally.
• Abide by all applicable federal, provincial, and municipal laws.
• Keep my business information updated with Ottawa Tourism, including, but not limited to, staff contacts and other public information.
• Ensure that my practices, policies, comportment, and branding reflect a commitment to diversity and inclusion and refrain from any such choices or action that are offensive to any groups, communities, or individuals based on race, colour, religion, gender, ability, age, or ethnic background.

Ottawa Tourism reserves the right to deny or terminate membership if a member fails to meet acceptable business standards and practices; engages in unbecoming or discriminatory conduct; or—in Ottawa Tourism’s sole discretion—engages in conduct that is detrimental to Ottawa Tourism’s reputation or goals. In addition, Ottawa Tourism reserves the right to suspend public listings and other benefits of membership while a complaint is being investigated.
